Some facts about Yemen.

~Sanaa is the capital city of Yemen. It's one of the larggest cities in the worldis. It's located in a high altitude basin (2,300 meters) in the central mountainous region. It is a city that gathers a population of approximately 1,937,500 (2012). Also it's one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world.Sanaa has wonderful buildings that have unique architectural characteristics, and beautiful geometric patterns.Sanaa is a UNESCO World Heritage Site ~Arabic is the official language spoken in Yemen. Arabic language reads and writes from the right side to the left side.The exact opposite of the English language.Arabic is the fifth-most spoken language worldwide. Over 200 million people speaking it as a first language, and more than 20 million people speaking it as a second language ~ Yemen's people are predominantly Arab but there are small mixed of African-Arab and Indian minority groups. All the people wear the Yemeni traditional clothes as it shows in the image on the left side.By the way it is customary for northern Yemeni males to wear a jambiya (a short, curved dagger) in public. ~Yemen's currency is Yemeni rial. The Yemeni Rial is divided into 100 fils.The currency code for Rials is YER. This picture on the left side is a Yemeni money. It's a thousand Yemeni rial which will be consider as about five dollars. ~It is forbidden to take pictures of Yemeni women and girls because generally in public women and girls usually cover their whole bodies and beauty.Usually diamonds are expansive and valuable where we take a really good care of it, in the way of coving and place them in a nice and save place so that nothing will ruin, harm , scratch, or break .The dimonds are the women for all yemenis and arabs men. And that's the reason why women cover their themselves with the hijab(head scraf) and long clothing to protect their beauties. |
